• SPRING SHOWER CAKE

I was contacted by one of my favorite cake lovers about a bridal shower cake for her sister for whom I will later be creating a wedding and groom’s cake for. She wanted a springy-looking cake with pinks, purples, yellows and sage green. She went with the usual vanilla cake with buttercream icing to feed 30 people.

Since she left the design up to me, I decided on a two tier basketweave cake with grass and gerber daisies.

I started with 2-6″ and 2-8″ cakes, which my lovely mother helped bake, and covered them with buttercream. After stacking them together, I piped the basketweave design on the edges of both tiers followed by the green grass. After creating the topper with pink, purple, yellow and white daisies, I placed it on top and it was complete in about 4 hours.
